DIP COATING METHOD AND ROLLER FOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dip coating method by which a covering layer having no surface defect can be formed when the covering layer of an electrically conductive member surface is formed and thickness of the covering layer of the electrically conductive member surface can be uniformly controlled with great simplicity at both an upper part and a lower part when dipped and to provide a roller for an electrophotographic apparatus manufactured by the dip coating method.

SOLUTION: In the dipping coating method for forming a coating film on an elastic layer at an outer periphery of an electrically conductive supporting body, descending speed of the elastic layer and a stopping time in a coating liquid is set so that time necessary for from beginning of dipping a lowest end part of the elastic layer into the coating liquid in a perpendicular direction till perfect dipping is below twice of the stopping time in a state where the elastic layer is completely dipped in the coating liquid.
