PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency light lighting device which can turn on fluorescent lamps each of which has different electrical characteristics by a constant lamp power and to provide a lighting fixture in emergency. SOLUTION: The emergency light lighting device 1 comprises a lamp characteristics detecting circuit 6 for detecting the lamp voltage or the lamp power of the fluorescent lamp 11, which is turned on by a lighting circuit 2 for discharge lamps; a memory 12 for storing the lamp voltage or the lamp power; a battery 143; and an emergency lighting circuit 3, which converts the direct current voltage from the battery 14 into a high-frequency voltage according to the lamp voltage or the lamp power stored in the memory 12 and outputs it to turn on the fluorescent lamp 11 by a preset lamp power in emergency.
