PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that prevents paper blistering by varying fixation set temperature according to the kind of recording paper, specially, coated paper and environmental humidity. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus equipped with a fixing device which heats and fixes an unfixed toner image by passing recording paper S where the unfixed toner image sticks through a fixing nip part formed by a fixing belt 31 and a pressure roller 35 pressed against the fixing belt 31 is equipped with a recording paper setting means of setting the kind of the recording paper S, an environmental humidity detecting means 13 of detecting environmental humidity in the image forming apparatus, and a control means 15 of controlling the temperature of the fixing belt 31, and the control means 15 controls the fixation set temperature of the fixing belt 31 based upon kind setting information on the recording paper S obtained by the recording paper setting means and a detected value of the environmental humidity detecting means 13.
