PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make measurement efficient, and to measure a characteristic of an optical fiber in a short time. SOLUTION: In this system 1 for measuring the optical fiber characteristic of the present invention, a plurality of measurement indication/data confirmation PCs 12A, 12B are connected in series via a control PC 11 to a detecting part 2 for detecting return light by reflection or scattering by making a light pulse get incident into the optical fiber F. Waveform data from the detecting part 2 are analytically processed alternately in every data unit by processing parts of the plurality of measurement indication/data confirmation PCs 12A, 12B, and an analytical result is output to a printer 13.
