PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of damping vibration of a damped object to which repeated load by vibration is applied, by using a piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: In this vibration damping device comprising the piezoelectric element 6 for converting mechanical energy into electric energy, and an electric circuit 7 for converting electric energy generated by the piezoelectric element 6 into heat energy, and damping the vibration of the damped objecte (mount bracket) 1 by changing mechanical energy of the vibrating damped object (mount bracket) 1 into heat energy and consuming the same, the damped object (mount bracket) 1 has a corner part A of which an angle is variable by deformation by vibration, and the piezoelectric element 6 is incorporated in the corner part A so that deformation load is acted by angle variation of the corner part A.
