PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection timing control device of a cylinder injection engine, capable of suppressing smoke occurrence due to poor carburation of fuel, while suppressing the fuel shortage. SOLUTION: In the fuel injection timing control device of the cylinder injection engine, fuel is directly injected into a combustion chamber, and when the engine is an intake stroke, the fuel injection starting timing is set depending on a fuel injection completion timing and a fuel injection pulse width calculated from the operation state at that time. When the fuel injection starting timing is set to a more advanced angle side than the injection starting guard which is a predetermined limit value preset with respect to the fuel injection starting timing, the fuel injection starting timing is lag angle adjusted so that the fuel injection starting timing conforms to the injection starting guard. Followed by the lag angle adjustment of the fuel injection starting timing, the fuel injection completion timing is lag angle adjusted so as to obtain the fuel injection period corresponding to the injection pulse width calculated in advance.
