PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding robot that performs cylinder welding at high speed and with high accuracy without requiring control of the speed and locus of the tip end of a welding torch by simultaneously moving each joint of an articulated robot and also without using a positioner, in welding a cylindrical material. SOLUTION: In the welding robot for performing welding between cylindrical materials or between a cylindrical material and a flat plate, the robot is equipped with a welding torch and a linear guide mechanism which is installed freely rotatably at the tip end of a manipulator and which moves the welding torch freely linearly and slidingly.
