1285016 Derivatives of 1-amino-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline RHONE-POULENC SA 19 April 1971 [12 March 1970] 23784/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula and their acid addition and quaternary ammonium salts, wherein each R is H, halogen, MeO or R-R is O-CH 2 -O; one of R 1 , R 2 is Ph and the other is H or Ph; A is C 1-5 alkylene, and (a) R 3 , R 4 are each C 1-5 alkyl, or (b) R 3 is alkylene (up to C 5 ) forming an N-heterocyclic ring with at most 7C atoms by attachment to a C atom of A, and R 4 is C 1-5 alkyl, or (c) NR 3 R 4 forms a 5- or 6-membered monocyclic ring, optionally containing as second heteroatom N, O or S, and optionally substituted by C 1-5 alkyl. These compounds are prepared by reacting a corresponding 1 - C 1-3 - alkylthio - 3,4 - dihydroisoquinoline (obtained from the 1 -mercapto compound with MeI) with R 3 R 4 N-A-NH 2 . Also prepared is Ph 2 CHCH 2 NCS. Therapeutic compositions for oral, parenteral, rectal or topical administration comprise compounds of the above formula, which are antiarrhythmic agents.
