The engine has a crankcase (2) and a crankshaft bearing cap (3) for a crankshaft bearing that is arranged at the crankcase. A pin (5) is provided at the crankcase for connection of the crankshaft bearing cap. The pin wraps around the crankshaft bearing cap and protrudes at both sides of the crankshaft bearing in the crankcase. A cylinder head (4) is provided and the pin is made from material comprising specific thermal expansion.
