PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk capable of preventing occurrence of obstacles of fly-stiction, corrosion and the like even when a magnetic head is floated and flown with≤10 nm low floating height, suitable for a magnetic disk device of a load/unload system and having high reliability. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the magnetic disk, a lubricant layer is applied and formed on the surface of the magnetic disk having a circular hole at its center. After the magnetic disk is immersed in an applying liquid containing a lubricant, the principal surface of the magnetic disk is inclined to the liquid surface of the applying liquid, the magnetic disk is pulled up relatively to the liquid surface and the lubricant layer is applied and formed on the surface of the magnetic disk. The inclination angle of the principal surface of the magnetic disk to the liquid surface of the applying liquid is set to >0°and≤87°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
