RECORDER, RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE, PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which makes a user not feel an unnatural deflection between pieces of information which have not been received as much as possible even when there are pieces of packet information which have not been received when contents which are made packets by being subjected to compression processing are recorded on a recording medium. SOLUTION: The recorder is equipped with; an input means 1 which inputs a stream of contents which are constituted by including image information and/or audio information which are made packets by being subjected to compression processing; a decoding means 2 which decodes the inputted image information and/or audio information; a recording means 3 which records the decoded image information and/or audio information; and a control means 6 which performs such processing as to make the recording means 3 temporarily stop the recording processing when packets become not to be inputted during the recording processing of the recording means 3, and as to make the recording means 3 resume the recording processing by releasing the temporary stoppage when the packets are inputted again. The control means 6 performs such control as to output prestored image information and/or audio information to the recording means 3 in spite of the period of the temporary stoppage every processing of the temporary stoppage and as to make the recording means 3 record them on the recording medium.
