PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner having excellent release property from a thermal fixing roll and giving stable picture quality for a long period of time, and to provide a method for manufacturing the electrophotographic toner and an image forming method using the electrophotographic toner. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner contains a binder resin, a colorant and a release agent, wherein the binder resin contains the copolymer of an organic polysiloxane compound and a polymerizable monomer which is radical polymerizable with the organic polysiloxane compound. The intensity ratio of the intensity S1 of a Si-C bond on the toner surface to the intensity S2 of C elements by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is in the range of 0.1≤S1/S2≤1.0, and the weight average molecular weight of the toner ranges from 30,000 to 200,000.
