PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet coater which decreases a setup time of a coating head and improves an operation rate of the ink jet coater wherein a generation of non-discharging by bubble inclusion is prevented even if a pressure change generates in an ink jet device. SOLUTION: The ink jet coater, equipped with the coating head for discharging a very small amount of ink on a substrate, has an ink-surface forming means for forming the ink-surface outside an nozzle side arranged at a tip of the coating head and an ink removing means for removing the ink-surface formed outside the nozzle side so that bubble inclusion into the coating head can be controlled and further the generation of non-discharging of ink can be prevented. Thus, the setup time is unnecessary and the operating rate of the device can be improved while up to now, the setup time has been required as ink has to be packed again after the coating head 115 is disassembled to be washed when non-discharging of ink is not solved.
