PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prophylactic and/or a therapeutic agent for aneurysm, capable of pharmaceutically preventing occurrence or enlargement of a lump or capable of inhibiting rupture thereof when the lump is degenerated, while the aneurysm is a clinically important disease leading to death due to the rupture and an invasive surgical treatment is a solely existing treatment therefor. SOLUTION: This prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for the aneurysm contains a JNK (c-Jun N-terminal kinase) inhibitor as an active ingredient. The JNK inhibitor is, in details, developed based on new discovery that acceleration of decomposition of an extracellular substrate of an arterial wall and inhibition of regeneration thereof are simultaneously caused by activation of the JNK. Therefore, the JNK inhibitor synthetically rectifies various factors of the above and further prevents collapse of the extracellular substrate. Further, the inhibitor prevents onset, progress, and the rupture of the aneurysm and, still more, improves life and prognosis of a patient suffering from the aneurysm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
