The X-by-wire system has electronically controlled servomotors that can be controlled by a user as actuators for driving the control elements of the vehicle for the functional areas of steering, acceleration and braking using an operating device within the vehicle within defined operating parameters defining certain operating states of the vehicle. A group (1) of at least two servomotors (2,2') is arranged spatially adjacent with a common gear mechanism (3) and force transfer mechanism via which the motor force of the servomotors of this group is passed to the same control element of the vehicle.
