<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of improving excessive heat suppressing function of a glow plug mounting wall. <P>SOLUTION: An injector mounting wall 9 positioned in a central part of a cylinder 8 when viewed in the direction parallel with an axis 8a of a cylinder 8 is formed in a cylinder head 10, and an injector insertion hole 40 is provided on the injector mounting wall 9. An intake port 6 is a helical type intake port, and the glow plug mounting wall 14 provided with a glow plug insertion hole 35 is formed between an intermediate port wall 6a of the helical type intake port 6 and the injector mounting wall 9. A cooling water passage 26 is provided between the glow plug mounting wall 14 and an exhaust port wall 28. The glow plug mounting wall 14 is surrounded from all around by the intermediate port wall 6a of the intake port 6, a terminal port part 6b of the intake port 6, the injector mounting wall 9, and the cooling water passage 26. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
