<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus whereby everyone can simply focus a desired part and photographs an object. <P>SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus provided with a CCD 23 for imaging an object and a display section 19 for displaying image data of the object obtained by the CCD 23 as a through-image, a plurality of optional parts are designated on a screen of the display section 19 as a focus object area. A control section 32 calculates a focus evaluation value on the basis of image data corresponding to the focus object area and focuses each focus object area on the basis of the calculated focus evaluation value as its control.
