<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of efficiently performing a density adjustment and a belt walk correction. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus detects a toner concentration and adjusts a toner concentration in a developing unit in accordance with the detected toner concentration. The image forming apparatus is provided with a control part 20 which performs such control that a transfer belt 18 is separated from a photoreceptor drum 2 during toner concentration adjustment and a solenoid part 12 is controlled to bring the transfer belt 8 into contact with the photoreceptor drum during walk correction of the transfer belt 8, which is performed at a prescribed timing during toner concentration adjustment. Since the transfer belt is separated from an image carrier during toner concentration adjustment not to transfer toner to the transfer belt and the solenoid is controlled to bring the transfer belt into contact with the image carrier during walk correction of the transfer belt, toner concentration adjustment and walk correction of the transfer belt are efficiently performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
