<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize a carbon nanotube which is oriented nearly perpendicular to a substrate by using an inexpensive raw material and a simple apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for synthesizing the carbon nanotube is composed of an electric furnace, a spray nozzle, a bubbler and a flask for containing an oil.
