<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of lighting defects of light emitting elements subsequent to switching defects of switching elements for lighting the light emitting elements. <P>SOLUTION: An LED printing head (LPH) is equipped with a plurality of light emitting diodes L1-L128 whose lighting/non lighting is controlled by a lighting signal, and a plurality of thyristors S1-S128 set corresponding to the plurality of light emitting diodes L1-L128 to make each of the light emitting diodes L1-L128 a lighting possible state by being set in an on state. A pulse width-modulated lighting signalΦI is set so that the light emitting diodes are prevented from lighting in a period of time while, for example, both of the thyristor S1 of the preceding stage used for lighting the light emitting diode L1 and the thyristor S2 of the succeeding stage used for lighting the light emitting diode L2 are turned on. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
