<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package with a lock mechanism which facilitates unlocking and never flaws a member, and an optical transceiver. <P>SOLUTION: An engagement member 4 is pivoted rotatably along one surface of a package main body 1 and on a rotating shaft perpendicular to an insertion/extraction direction, and the package main body 1 includes a space where the engagement member 4 can be stored without causing a rotated vertical plane 5 to project from the plane of the package main body 1.
