PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an unit for applying a label to an article, which is, in particular, inexpensive and can be performed easily. SOLUTION: In the method and the unit (1) for applying the label (2) to the article (3), a supporting head (10) is fed by a conveyor (8) along a label path (P1) and the label (2) is fed to a first seat (11) of the supporting head (10) and the article (3) is fed to a second seat (12) of the supporting head (10) and a relative movement is produced between the first seat (11) and the second seat (12) of the supporting head (10) to apply the label (2) to the article (3).
