PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery with a jelly-roll electrode assembly having low possibility of short circuiting. SOLUTION: In the jelly-roll electrode assembly, electrode taps formed as two electrodes are arranged, side by side on the outer periphery side of a jelly roll with the same level. In this case, the electrode assembly of the secondary battery is formed into the elliptical or truck-shaped jelly roll, and it is desirably used with a pouch, in which one groove is formed on one side for storing the electrode assembly. The electrode tap is desirably kept linear, without being bent in an inside space of a bare cell. The possibility of short-circuit in the bare cell due to the electrode tap is reduced, the degradation of the battery capacity due to the concentration of pressure on an electrode plate portion laid on the tap, when wound is prevented, and an invalid space in the bare cell is reduced.
