PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate fixing of an electronic ballast 1 and a metallic cylindrical outer cover 6, and to improve the waterproof performance. SOLUTION: The electronic stabilizer 1 for discharge lamp lighting is provided. The electronic stabilizer 1 has gutter-shaped lower cover 2 and upper cover 3. The lower cover 2 and the upper cover 3 are combined into a cylindrical shape. The lower cover 2 is longer than the upper cover 3. An installation hole 4 is formed at both end parts of the lower cover 2. A cylindrical outer cover 6 made of metal is provided, and the electronic stabilizer 1 is inserted and installed inside the outer cover 6. A pair of end lids 10, made of metal closing both the ends of the outer cover 6 are provided. A waterproof packing 11, interposed between each end and the outer cover 6, is provided. A cutting edge-rising piece 5 is formed at a part of the upper cover 3. The cutting edge-rising piece 5 contacts the upper inner face of the outer cover 6, in a process of inserting the electronic stabilizer 1 into the cylindrical outer cover 6, thereby, the lower cover 2 is formed into a shape and size that pressure welds the lower inner face of the upper cover 6.
