The invention relates to mixtures that comprise at least one polyester precursor and at least one alkali metal salt and/or alkaline earth metal salt, said mixture comprising at least one phosphonic ester of formula (I) (RO)OC-R'-PO(OR)₂, wherein R independently represents a group having 1 to 60 carbon atoms and R' represents a linking group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms. The invention also relates to polyester compositions obtained from the aforementioned mixtures and to polyester films.
