<p>A reception data storage device includes: an information addition circuit for generating additional information data to be added to reception packet data received via a network; a buffer for temporarily storing the reception packet data and the additional information data; and a data transfer control circuit for transferring the data stored in the buffer to a main memory by the store & forward method. The buffer has a ring memory formed by continuous addresses for storing the data and a ring memory control circuit for controlling the ring memory. The ring memory control circuit has following address pointers to the ring memory: a write pointer specifying an address for successively pushing the reception packet data, a read permission pointer specifying an address which can be read by specifying a predetermined address pushing the additional information data, and a read pointer for specifying the address for successively hopping for the main memory.</p> |
