<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by performing print setting by using a template manuscript in which a finish image is expressed for enabling a finished state to be predicted, by using an actual manuscript as the template manuscript, and by enabling set information to be added or changed easily. <P>SOLUTION: Before a user performs print setting by using an operation panel 18, an image reader 11 reads the template manuscript 22a, and an image analyzer 15 analyzes the image data, thus extracting a characteristic value for indicating the attribute of the manuscript.
