<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generating agent having particularly good heat resistance for a gas generator used in an air-bag system to protect a person when he collides a car. <P>SOLUTION: This gas generating agent is for a gas generator used in an air-bag system installed at least outside the cabin of a car to protect a person when he collides a car, and has a mass reduction rate of not higher than 1% after keeping it for 400 hours at 130°C in a closed system.
