PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance of an air cleaner in a saddle ride type vehicle of an underbone type in which a seat is dented downward at a front part. SOLUTION: The air cleaner 34 is disposed backward of a cylinder 25 in an engine 15 and is arranged backward from the cylinder 25 of an engine 15 and is inserted between a pair of right and left seat rails 19. An upper part of the air cleaner 34 is projected upward over the seat rail 19. The upper side of the air cleaner 34 is covered with a seat front cover 12 to part a space 13 ahead of the seat 11. The air cleaner 34 is provided with a lid 36, and a vertically long cleaner case 35. For maintenance, the seat front cover 12 is removed, and the lid 36 is taken out diagonally forward and upward.
