PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remotely controlled circuit breaker capable of being easily made in a bipolar form with a width dimension for one pole while suppressing the enlargement of an equipment body as much as possible. SOLUTION: A main contact device 8 is interposed in a cable way between input and output terminal 6 and 10 of the equipment body 1. A switching/tripping mechanism 30 connects and disconnects a main movable contact 60 to and from a main fixed contact 61 by switching operation of a handle 14, and forcedly opens the contacts in a case that abnormal current is carried to the cable way. A relay contact device 9 has a relay movable contact 63 and a relay fixed contact 62 serially connecting with the main contact device 8. An electromagnet device 31 connects and disconnects the relay movable contact 63 to and from the relay fixed contact 62 by an external signal. The main movable contact 60 and the main fixed contact 61, and the relay movable contact 63 and the relay fixed contact 62 are stored, for each pole, in an arc extinguishment chamber 64 dividedly formed in the direction of connecting both side surface of the equipment body 1.
