PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for a vehicle including a navigation device and a display device, wherein communication speed is improved when transmitting/receiving information except map information of the navigation device by communicating between the navigation device and the display device. SOLUTION: The navigation device is connected to the display device by a control signal line used for transmission of a control signal and a video signal line used for transmission of a video. The map information is transmitted to the display device from the navigation device by the video signal line, the transmission of the map information is stopped by a transmission request for the information except the map information to the navigation device from the display device, and the information except the map information of the navigation device is transmitted to the display device from the navigation device via the video signal line.
