COMPACT HEAT EXCHANGER FOR COOLING AND HEAT TRANSFER IMPROVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact heat exchanger including at least one stirring strip extending between adjacent pedestals to increase heat transfer performance and minimize amount of cooling fluid. SOLUTION: A row of pedestals for the compact heat exchanger for increasing heat transfer performance in the device includes a wall 46 having a first face 48 and a second face 50. The first face 48 faces a heated flow passage, and the second face 50 constitutes a flow passage for cooling fluid partially. A plurality of pedestals 40 are extended from the second face of the wall. At least one stirring strip 42 is extended between adjacent pedestals. These stirring strip and pedestals function to mix cooling fluid and increase heat transfer performance from the wall to the cooling fluid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
