PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of designing parts which reduces pressure loss and deformation of fluid distribution. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method of designing parts of a gas turbine engine using parameter analysis in combination with part geometry and flow control. The design method includes: a step 20 of performing parameter definition of the geometry of a duct wall configuration; a step 40 of performing parameter definition of one or more flow control actuators in the duct wall; a step 60 of measuring a plurality of performance parameters or metrics of the duct (for example, flow characteristics) and comparing the measurement results with desired values or target values of the parameters; and a step 80 of selecting the optimum duct geometry and flow control for at least a part of the duct, wherein the step 80 contains evaluation of the plurality of performance metrics by pareto analysis in the process of selection.
