PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method or a cleaning machine in the form mentioned at the beginning, smoothly and relatively easily performable, and capable of reproducing an accurate track position. SOLUTION: The arch height f<SB>x</SB>measured by a first arch height sensor 16 of a first measuring chord 13, is stored in a relation with distance measurement for recording a rear tail end point A2 as a target position on a local track point P<SB>x</SB>. After a rear tail end point B2 of a second measuring chord 14 reaches the local track point P<SB>x</SB>, a second arch height sensor 17 correspondingly arranged in the second measuring chord 14 dislocates the rear tail end point B2 up to reaching a measured value, in its turn, the target position corresponding to the stored arch height f<SB>x</SB>.
