PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve thermal efficiency in the case of cooking foods with superheated steam. SOLUTION: This food heating apparatus 1 is provided with: a ceiling plate 4; front and rear plates 6 and 7 which extend from the front and rear part sides of the ceiling plate 4 respectively downward to cover a space 5 under the ceiling plate 4 from its front and rear sides; plates 8 and 9 which extend downward from the respective left and right part sides of the ceiling plate 4 to cover the space 5 from its left and right outer sides; a carrying machine 15 for carrying foods 14 forward with the whole foods 14 positioned within the space 5 closed from its upper side and a horizontal direction by the respective plates 4 and 6 to 9; and a steam feeding apparatus 28 for feeding the superheated steam 2 into the space 5.
