Disclosed is a thermally sensitive recording medium having one or more layers on a supporting body including a thermally sensitive recording layer containing at least a colorless or pale colored electron-donating leuco dye and an electron-accepting developer. This thermally sensitive recording medium has high gloss in the printing area by containing a pigment with an aspect ratio of not less than 30 in at least one layer on the supporting body.
