PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector provided with a ferrule shape by which a ferrule can be stably grasped to polish the front wall of the ferrule even when slight abrasion is caused in metallic molds. SOLUTION: In the optical connector obtained by inserting optical fibers into a ferrule 3 having guide holes 7 and optical fiber holes 6 and polishing the front wall of the ferrule 3, the ferrule 3 is molded by two divided molding metallic molds 12, 13 and one sidewall width divided by a division line 3c of the metal molds 12, 13 is formed narrower than the other sidewall width.
