PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pad hanging type disc brake, wherein the looseness of a pad can be suitably prevented. SOLUTION: The pad hanging type disc brake 10 comprises a caliper 11 mounted on a member on the body side and the pad 1 hung and supported on the caliper 11 via a hanger pin 16. An elastic member 4 is mounted on the rotor round-in side of the pad 1. The elastic member 4 elastically abuts on part of the caliper 11 for energizing the pad 1 from the rotor round-in side to the rotor round-out side to thrust the outer edge on the rotor round-out side of the pad 1 against a torque receiving portion 11c of the caliper 11.
