PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stainless steel extra fine wire for a wire net having satisfactory tensile strength and elongation properties, having a high wire drawing rate and suitable for a precise wire net. SOLUTION: The stainless steel extra fine wire is provided in which carbides with a grain size of≤2μm expressed in terms of the diameter of the equivalent circle are dispersed into a matrix made of austenitic stainless steel. Further, the stainless steel extra fine wire has a diameter of 10 to 50μm, and a tensile strength of 1,400 to 2,600 MPa.
