PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polylactic acid resin, excellent in productivity and requiring neither special equipment nor complex operation. SOLUTION: The method for producing the polylactic acid aqueous dispersion comprises (A) a process for heating bellow-mentioned raw materials (a) to (e) in a vessel to emulsify the polylactic acid resin (a), (B) a process for adding the plasticizer (f), and (C) a process for removing the amphiphilic organic solvent (d), wherein the raw materials are (a) polylactic acid resin, (b) 1-30 mass% polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymer-based surfactant based on the polylactic acid resin (a), (c) 5-30 times equivalent ammonia or organic amine compound having≤250°C boiling point based on the polylactic acid resin (a), (d) 5-40 mass% amphiphilic organic solvent based on the total mass of raw materials (a) to (f), (e) water and (f) 1-50 mass% plasticizer based on the polylactic acid resin (a).
