PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flash fixing device obtaining excellent toner fixing properties in the entire regions of a plurality of kinds of recording media differing in width by suppressing illuminance decreases and illuminance unevenness of the recording media. SOLUTION: A flash fixing unit 20 is configured to reflect flash light, leaking to the side of a conveyance path 18 without irradiating a recording medium 12B having a width smaller than a maximum width, of flash light emitted by a flash lamp 40E to the side of a reflecting plate 42 by reflecting plates 48A to 48C when flash fixation is carried out for the recording medium 12B. The flash light reflected by the reflecting plates 48A to 48C to impinge on the reflecting plate 42 is reflected by the reflecting plate 42 to the side of the recording medium 12B, so an illuminance decrease on the recording medium 12B is suppressed.
