PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce area where a transfer roll directly comes into contact with a photoreceptor when narrow paper passes. SOLUTION: The transfer roll 24 can be displaced in a shaft direction, and a displacement control part 66 controls a motor 60 in accordance with the width of continuous paper P so as to reduce the area where the transfer roll 24 directly comes into contact with the photoreceptor 22.
