PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect performance and the stat of a fluid, or the state of inside of a measurement tube regardless of flowing speed of the fluid by using the same constitution of an electromagnetic flowmeter. SOLUTION: The state detection device for making the performance and the state of the fluid or the state of inside of the measurement tube the parameters of the subject to be detected comprises: the measurement tube 1 for flowing the fluid; the pair of electrodes 2a and 2b for detecting the voltage induced by the magnetic field applied on the fluid and the flow of the fluid; the pair of excitation coils 3 and the electric source 4 for applying the time alternative magnetic field to the fluid asymmetrically to the plane PLN including the pair of the electrodes 2a and 2b; and the state quantifying part 8 for quantifying the parameters based on the variation factors by extracting the variation factors depending on the parameters from the pA/pt component (note: "p" means partial differentiation) which is extracted from the resultant electromotive force composed of the electromotive forces of pA/pt independent of the flowing speed detected by the electrodes 2a and 2b and the electromotive force of v×B component caused by the flowing speed of the fluid.
