PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crush drying method and a crush dryer capable of crushing and drying material and controlling various states including particle size on particles after crushed. SOLUTION: The crush dryer 10 is provided with a pulse combustor (a pulse engine) 1 and a material charging pipe 2 disposed near an outlet of an exhaust pipe 1b, and further a gas regulating means for changeably setting the Reynolds number of particles on exhaust gas of the pulse combustor 1 around the particles of the charged material. As the gas regulating means, an air supply pipe 1c, a fuel supply pipe 1d, a secondary air supply pipe 1f and a material charging pipe 2 are respectively provided with supply quantity regulating equipment (a flow regulating valve or the like).
