PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of detecting paper out with a simple structure while using a continuous paper sheet. SOLUTION: When a continuous paper P carried from a main drive roller 102 is cut upstream of a sub drive roller 110, a photosensitive drum 12 is rotated at the speed higher than that of the main drive roller 102, and a tension control roller 112 detects degradation of the tension unless the continuous paper P is wound by the sub drive roller 110 at the speed higher than the reference value. If the tension of the continuous paper P detected by the tension control roller 112 is a reference value after paper out occurs, the sub drive roller 110 is rotation-controlled at the speed higher than the reference speed. If the rotational speed of the sub drive roller is higher than the reference value while the tension is the reference value, it is determined that paper out occurs somewhere between the main drive roller 102 and the sub drive roller 110.
