The environment protection by the water circulation in case of tanker damage is a procedure that can be applied if a tanker has been damaged by going aground or in a tanker collision and if crude oil, crude oil derivates and any other oils flow out - for a certain quantity that in that moment has been estimated as optimal, for instance 1/10 of the cargo or less, the water from the environment is being pumped by a pump/pumps, and is being directed to a damaged tank by at least one existing pipe-line, where the cargo separates from the water, thanks to the fact that the water is weighty than the cargo, then by the water circulation, taking in and taking out approximately the same quantity of the water, keeping the cargo at the optimal surface height, constantly measuring the surface height level of the cargo up to the "ullage" tank ceiling and reducing the motion by some suitable inert gas.
|
