<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check whether the paper is properly loaded, when printing on paper having cutouts or holes. <P>SOLUTION: Manuscript image data 16, showing the contents of printing, are obtained from a print server 12, together with paper shape data 18 showing data related to the shape of the paper. Printing is conducted, based on the manuscript image data 16, and inspection image data 56 are obtained by reading the printed paper with a read section 52. A deciding section 60 extracts the data related to the shape of the paper from the data 56 and compares them with the paper shape data 18 acquired from the server, to decide whether the paper has been oriented properly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
