<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus operable in two writing modes, a binary writing mode and a multi-value writing mode, wherein a density correction is appropriately made in both the writing modes, and to provide a correction method for print density. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is capable of using binary writing in which gradation is expressed based upon print data by the formation or non-formation of pixels in a predetermined range, and a multi-value writing in which gradation is expressed based upon print data by controlling an amount of developer attached to each pixel as unit. The image forming apparatus has a control section 53 for exerting control in order to form the image of a binary adjustment pattern 112 for adjusting density for binary writing and the image of a multi-value adjustment pattern for adjusting density for multi-value writing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
