<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of preventing damages due to a heat stress of a DPF in reproducing the DPF1. <P>SOLUTION: A catalyst layer to accelerate the combustion of the collected particulates is formed on a wall surface of a passage through which an exhaust gas of the DPF1 passes, at the same time more catalyst metals, oxygen occluding materials, or alkaline metals contained in the catalyst layer are allocated at the filter outer peripheral side compared to the filter central side, and the acceleration of the combustion of the particulates at the filter outer peripheral side decreases the difference in temperature between the filter central portion and the outer peripheral portion at the time of reproduction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
