PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet coater capable of keeping an ink discharging state from a nozzle to be always good while avoiding a break down or an attrition failure of an opening end side of a nozzle by contact with a shutter. SOLUTION: The ink jet coater has an ink jet head 42 having a nozzle outlet 50 which is an opening for spraying drops, the shutter 51 arranged movably forwards and backward as to cover the nozzle outlet near the nozzle outlet 50, and a supporting mechanism 49, 52, 53 for moving the shutter 51 while keeping a gap for the opening end side of the nozzle outlet 50 between a position covering the nozzle outlet 50 and a position evacuated from the said position.
